El Sexteto Fantasma se ha consolidado como una de las orquestas más importantes de la nueva camada del tango argentino. Su sonido único, gracias a la inclusión de la trompeta y la guitarra de jazz, los ha llevado a destacarse en el circuito de milongas porteñas y europeas. Se los puede encontrar tocando en icónicas milongas como La Viruta, Salón Canning y el Morán, entre otras.

La orquesta nació en 2012 a partir del proyecto de llevar adelante una milonga. Desde entonces, han tocado todos los martes en el barrio de Almagro y continúan manteniendo la milonga con música en vivo después de más de diez años. Han editado tres discos: "La Ventanita de Arrabal" en 2014, dedicado al espacio homónimo donde la orquesta se formó; "Fuego Bohemio" en 2018, su obra más representativa con todos tangos propios, presentado en el mítico Teatro 25 de Mayo de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires; y en 2019 presentaron por Europa un álbum de clásicos del tango llamado "Noches Milongueras", que contiene versiones de De Angelis, D'Arienzo, Troilo, Canaro, Tanturi y un homenaje a la unión de Dizzy Gillespie con Osvaldo Fresedo.

El Sexteto Fantasma ha actuado en algunos de los escenarios más imponentes de Buenos Aires y Montevideo, como la Usina del Arte, el Konex, el Centro Cultural Kirchner, Centro Cultural Recoleta, el Teatro Nacional del Sodre (Uruguay) y la Sala Zitarroza (Uruguay). Además, han llevado a cabo cuatro giras europeas donde se presentaron en el mítico festival Tango en Tarbes, en el renombrado Festival de Edimburgo (Escocia), el Festival Le Printemps du Tango à Mulhouse (Francia) y el imponente Foyer de la Ópera de Wiesbaden (Alemania), entre otros hermosos escenarios y milongas.

En sus composiciones propias, han incluido como invitados a grandes personalidades de la música popular argentina como Kevin Johansen, Juan Quintero y Jorge Serrano (Auténticos Decadentes), mientras que en la interpretación de los clásicos buscan despertar el sentir milonguero y levantar a los bailarines hacia la pista. Sus canciones fueron grabadas por otras orquestas como Tango Bardo con Cucuza Castiello, La Misteriosa Bs As con Eliana Sosa, 34 Puñaladas y Orquesta Messiez (Philadelphia) con Juan Villarreal, lo que los convierte en una de las agrupaciones con más aportes al nuevo repertorio del tango del siglo XXI.

El Sexteto Fantasma is among the most important orchestras of the new wave of Argentine Tango. Established in the circuit of porteño and European milongas, they are often found playing at the historic La Viruta milonga, as well as at Salón Canning or the mythical Morán popular milonga. The Sexteto Fantasma is based on a particular sound that is provided by its formation. The inclusion of the trumpet (in homage to Canaro, the first to include this sound in a Tango formation) and the jazz guitar provide a unique touch. Their own compositions are recorded by different current groups and danced in countless milongas around the world. Their versions of classic milonguero songs burst onto the dance floor with freshness and a mischievous rhythm.

The orchestra was born in 2012 as part of the project to carry out a milonga, where they consolidated playing every Tuesday in the Almagro neighborhood, and they continue to maintain the milonga with live music after more than ten years. They have released 3 albums:

• La Ventanita de Arrabal 2014 (dedicated to the homonymous space where the orchestra was formed)

• Fuego Bohemio 2018, their most representative work of all their own tangos, presented at the mythical Teatro 25 de Mayo in the City of Buenos Aires.

• In 2019, they presented a classic tango album called "Noches Milongueras" throughout Europe, which contains versions of De Angelis, D'Arienzo, Troilo, Canaro, Tanturi, and a tribute to the union of Dizzy Gillespie with Osvaldo Fresedo.

Their music has taken them to the most imposing stages of Buenos Aires and Montevideo, such as the Usina del Arte, the Konex, the Centro Cultural Kirchner, Centro Cultural Recoleta, the National Theater of the Sodre (Uruguay), and the Zitarroza Hall (Uruguay).

They have carried out 4 European tours where they performed at the mythical Tango en Tarbes festival, the renowned Edinburgh Festival (Scotland), the Festival Le Printemps du Tango à Mulhouse (France), and the imposing Foyer of the Wiesbaden Opera (Germany) among other beautiful stages and milongas.

In their own compositions, they have included great personalities of Argentine popular music as guests, such as Kevin Johansen, Juan Quintero, and Jorge Serrano (Auténticos Decadentes), while in the interpretation of the classics, they seek to awaken the milonguero feeling and lift the dancers onto the dance floor!

Their songs have been recorded by other orchestras such as Tango Bardo with Cucuza Castiello, La Misteriosa Bs As with Eliana Sosa, 34 Puñaladas and Orquesta Messiez (Philadelphia) with Juan Villarreal. They are one of the orchestras that contribute the most to the new repertoire of Tango XXI."
